We at SOUTH AUSTRALIAN MASTERS CYCLING ASSOCIATION (SAMCA) understand it is important to protect the privacy of our members and guests who visit our website (“samc.org.au”) or use e-mail to communicate with us. We know that it takes trust on your part to enter private data online and we take that trust very seriously and make it our highest priority to ensure the security and confidentiality of your personal information you provide us.

This Privacy Statement describes our policies and practices for the Site and e-mail communications in the areas of: Notice, Consent, Access, Security, and Enforcement.

BY USING OUR WEBSITE (“samc.org.au”), YOU AGREE TO THESE POLICIES.

Notice
We will ask you when we need information that personally identifies you or allows us to contact you (“Personal Information”). Generally this information is requested if you place an online nomination for an event, if you register for an account on the Site, or if you contact us for information. We use your Personal Information for the following primary purposes:

– To facilitate your nomination to events.
– To make the site easier for you to use by not having to enter information more than once.
– To alert you to special events, updated information and other event

Collected Information. SAMCA may collect information from you in several different ways on the Site including the following:

Online Nomination and Account Registration.
In order to process nominations for events that you nominate for, we will collect Personal Information in order to process your nomination and if required, take payment from you. We may also establish individual user accounts on the Site to allow easier nominations, emailing and data processing. During account registration and or online nomination we may collect such Personal Information as your name, age, telephone number, e-mail address, next of kin, medical information and credit card information as necessary. We may, at our discretion, edit your information entered into our database in order to process your entry more efficiently or for administrative purposes. However, this process does not carry further functions.

Publication of photographs or video
SAMCA may upload to the website photographs or video of racing events and prize giving. You have the right to ask for any photos or videos to be removed if they contain images of you and you don’t wish to have these published on the website.  

Referral Information.
The Site may include a referral service whereby you may provide information on other persons or entities (such as name and email address) in order to inform them about the Site and our products. If you provide such referral information, SAMCA may send email messages to the referred party inviting them to visit the Site, or to otherwise inform them about our products. The referred party may contact SAMCA at webmaster@samc.org.au to request the removal of their information from the SAMCA database.

Site Usage.
SAMCA may monitor your activities, preferences, and transactional data (such as your IP address) relating to your use of the Site and/or Services and log this information. This information may be used to diagnose Site technical problems, or problems with your account.

Cookies.
Cookies are data files that are written onto your computer by a website, and stay there unless removed by you. Cookies enable us to recognize your computer when you revisit the Site, and recall your Site preferences to enhance your experience in using the Site. We do not use cookies to collect or use any information about your visits to other websites and do not knowingly allow any third party (other than our affiliates) to create cookies or otherwise collect any information from our Site. As a general policy, SAMCA does not knowingly or intentionally disclose to any third parties any specific Personal Information about you that we collect via the Site including your name, age, phone number, e-mail address, next of kin, credit card information, site usage, or site preferences. However, SAMCA reserve the right to advise race officials of your contact, age or other pertinent details in order to properly grade you or to be able to contact next of kin in the event of an emergency. We also reserve the right to outsource certain activities such as credit card processing to our business partners. In such case, we will disclose to these business partners only such information as is required to facilitate your transactions, and we will require our business partners to protect and refrain from disclosing your information to other third parties. Further, SAMCA will cooperate with official law enforcement inquiries, such as fraud investigations and subpoenas, and will disclose your information when necessary to comply with state and federal laws and regulations

Consent
If you choose not to provide personal information on the Site when requested, you can still use most of the Site, however you may not be able to place online nominations for some of our events or access areas that require registration. It is our intent to inform you before we collect Personal Information via our Site information forms, and to tell you what we intend to do with the information. You have the option not to provide the information, and in the future you may also be able to “opt out” of certain uses of the information.

Security
SAMCA takes commercially reasonable steps to protect the security of your Personal Information, and honours your choices for its intended use. We carefully protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction both online and off-line. To the extent that you are asked to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number) online at the Site, that information is protected from access by any third parties using commercial practices prevalent within the online industry (e.g., Secure Sockets Layer (“SSL”) technology).

Enforcement
If for some reason you believe SAMCA has not adhered to the principles of this Privacy Statement, please notify us by e-mail at webmaster@samc.org.au, and we will do our best to determine and correct the problem promptly.

Links. The Site may contain links to other sites, however, please be aware that SAMCA is not responsible for and cannot control the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave the Site, and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This Privacy Statement applies solely to information collected by the SAMCA web site.
