The SAMCA Consistency Award has been awarded since 2010. It has been designed to recognise and reward riders for their consistent support of, and performance in, nominated SAMCA
Consistency Award races.
For each race that a rider registers for and completes he or she shall be awarded “start” or “finish” points to recognise general support for SAMCA events and commitment to complete each race. There will be 10 “finish” points awarded, but only 5 “start” points awarded in the event a rider starts but fails to complete the race. In addition to these points, there will be points awarded to the first 40% of finishers in each field in accordance with the performance points allocation table posted on the SAMCA website.
Only a riders best 10 out of 12 results count towards the final tally.
As for previous years, the presentation of Consistency Awards will be made at the final Open event on the year, usually in November.
For the 2018 series, Robert Freak generously donated one ticket to the TDU Legends dinner to one lucky person who was randomly drawn from the top 16 placed riders in the consistency points table.
The 2018 award has been finalised and the winners announced. See the consistency page for details.
