Your SAMCA Committee has been working on improving the overall experience for members during the last twelve months with quite a few changes to the administrative operations of the Association and your clubs. SAMCA has also been given the honour of staging the Australian Veteran Cycling Council National Championships in January 2020. So lots of things are happening in our State on the Masters cycling scene.
Another great benefit that we have been working on for a while is to bring members and prospective members a number of training sessions to be conducted at Victoria Park. The idea of these sessions is to improve your enjoyment of racing. The initial session will be conducted by Kristin Lewis in the coming month or so and will cover the skills and etiquette needed for safe and productive bunch riding, tactics and also the basics of an effective training plan. Kristin is a past Captain of the Norwood Cycling Club and has ridden on the National and International racing scene. He is now a Masters rider and rides most days between running a very successful personal training company.

Your SAMCA committee in concert with your club would love for you to join in some of these training sessions that are designed to help you race more effectively, being it picking up some Criterium skills or mastering those hills. If you are an old hand at this racing caper, you might like to bring along a few of your riding buddies who don’t race to show them what is involved so that they can join you on race day.
If is planned that these sessions would be conducted on a Saturday around late morning early afternoon. If you would like to register your interest please respond to the secretary, with “yes I am interested” (<< click this) and we will be back to you with more details.
