Hi everyone,
Firstly an update on the 2020 National Championships. As you would be aware all AVCC members nationally were surveyed to establish a preferred date. There were 569 responses. The vote was very close to 50/50 Easter or Jan. The SAMCA committee has decided to go with the January dates to tie in with the TDU. We plan to run the Crit on Jan 18 at Vic Park with VLCC as host club. The road race will be on Sunday Jan 19 at Gumeracha/Mount Crawford on the same course we use for the State RR. Adelaide Hills hosting. The individual TT will be at Woodchester/Langhorne Creek on Jan 20. The host club will be S/Vets. The TT was pencilled in for The Range but Frank and his committee have consulted widely and have decided to change the venue.
SAMCA is about to publish the above info nationally with a flyer to hopefully get a few minds focused.
A couple of other points worth mentioning. The male entry age is now 30. Confirmed several weeks ago. The national peak body (AVCC) will become the Australian Masters Cycling Council in September (an SA initiative). Please note the calendar changes for Oct this year. These have been widely advertised. The state RR is now Oct 13 and the Hills Open scheduled for Oct 20 is now Oct 27
Cheers
David
